About Vermont Global Exchange

The Vermont Global Exchange is an informal network of Vermont-based organizations that work overseas, supported by the University of Vermont’s Office of Engagement. VGE welcomes nonprofit, business, and government leaders as well as scholars and foundations working in the international arena for an exchange of ideas and knowledge that can lead to new understanding and action in these fast-changing times. Each biannual meeting has a theme and guest speakers, leading to a dynamic discussion and the option to bring forth an issue to brainstorm.

We meet twice a year to do things that we do better together, including: 

• Exchange resources

• Explore topics of high interest

• Mine the wisdom of each other and invited guests

• Make strategic links with each other and other organizations

Between meetings we are experimenting with informal connections including:

• Project Kitchens on demand

• Catalyst conversations

• Google group email for networking

Our continuing preoccupation is how we can be more effective in a complex world and focus our organizations on the most pressing contemporary questions that need attention.
